and never come back ANY DAY!
HELLO MY GOOD PEOPLE!! I know it has been a very long while since you've seen a blog from me. I have been super busy with home, wife, mommy, work, school and boss babe LIFE! It has just been so hard to give you guys good content.
There is so much going on in the world today with COVID-19! and I wanted to check in and CHECK some folk! I don't know if a lot of you know but I am a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing Degree (BSN). So as you may have figured, I am in the front line during this crisis alongside many others caring for patients with this horrible virus.
This is me getting all of my protective gear on before going into a patients room. (I HAVE NEW STURDY GOGGLES AND FACE SHIELD NOW AND I WEAR A HAIR BONNETT).
I must admit this has been so overwhelming to say the least, and I am sure all of you can attest to that. This pandemic is effecting us all! Frontline and all essential workers are putting their lives at risk everyday to do their part in this ball of mess.
(This is not a picture from my hospital, but our ICU looks identical to this pic!)
The number of positive COVID-19 that we are seeing in the hospital is unbelievable. Even more shocking is that these patients can come in walking and talking with minor symptoms and a few days later can be struggling to even breathe on their own! And this is after all the efforts or the doctors, staff, medication and oxygen. When normal supplemental oxygen is not enough to keep a patients oxygen levels normal, that patient may have to be intubated and placed on a ventilator that will BREATHE for the patient. That is how aggressive this virus can get. COVID-19 has no targeted age, gender or race, I do not care what the media is saying. It is fatally affecting all ages, genders and races.
EVERYONE PLEASE BE SMART AND SAFE!!!
It is so disturbing to see how many people are still linking up whether it is in groups or not. YOU SHOULD NOT be going into anyone else's home or letting people visit you unless it is essential! JUST BECAUSE A PERSON DOES NOT FEEL OR LOOK SICK does not mean they haven't come into contact with someone who WERE ACTUALLY POSITIVE. A person can be asymptomatic for up to 2 weeks!!! COME ON PEOPLE getting our hair done/cut or getting our nails done is not that deep!!!!! Is it possibly worth your life or your loved one lives?!!!!!!!!!
WASHING OUR HANDS IS SIMPLY NOT ENOUGH WE HAVE TO USE COMMON SENSE AS WELL! WE CAN GET THROUGH THIS IF WE ALL JUST MAKE SAFE CHOICES!
IF YOU OR A LOVED ONE IS HAVING SYMPTOMS OF COVID-19 DO NOT WAIIIITTTTTTTTT GET HELP IMMEDIATELY, IF YOU ARE TO WEAK OR SHORT OF BREATH TO DRIVE CALL 911
SHORTNESS OF BREATH
You do not have to have all of these symptoms to be positive.
I am a medical professional but I am not a doctor. I wanted to just share a little bit of what I have witnessed with you all. I can not even post everything I wanted because this post will be longggg if I did. If you have any questions I can do my best to answer. Just remember this is something very new and we're in crisis, most things we are discovering as we go so there have been and will continue to be a lot of changes.
Thank you for reading, be blessed be safe and take care of yourselves!
